Adventure! New Things to Try & New Things to Do
We decided to put up a section where we could post random things we've done or want to do and where we can post upcoming events where you might actually get a chance to find us and meet us, we'll probably be eating something or drinking something and most likely we'll be doing both.
Cooking Classes!!!! For kids & kids at heart
On May 19th, 2018 I'll be holding our first of many (I hope) cooking classes targeted at kids and adults who are interested in learning how to make fresh and easy healthy kid friendly meals. Every kid & kid at heart will learn to cook 3 easy and healthy farm to table dishes that they can make at home for their families. Each kid will take home a special item to help them cook at home along with recipes that they can make at home. We want everyone to make a dish at home and email a picture of what you made to me and we'll post your edible creations here. The objective is to have fun cooking at home and using your imagination to make a delicious dish at home. We'll choose a winning dish for a special prize! We'll be posting more details here.

Asian Street food in So Cal
Night markets are a common occurrence in Asian countries and they always feature street food vendors along with all of the merchandise you can't commonly find in brick and mortar stores. Now we have Asian style street markets in Southern California during the summer. These weekend night markets feature all kinds of Asian fusion foods along with DJ's, break dancers, Asian Hip Hop artists and street artists. If you have a chance visit either the 626 Street Market at Santa Anita Park, in the SGV or the OC Street Market at the OC fair grounds both bastions of Asian populous.

California Rare Fruit Growers (CRFG) meeting Balboa Park

The San Diego Botanical Garden Foundation has an amazing number of affiliate organizations that you can join. Not all of them are botanical in nature. You can visit any of these organizations at their meetings listed on the board here. I'm curious to meet some of the members of the carnivorous plant society. Makes me think of Little Shop of Horrors-Feed Me!, I bet they have a great halloween party.
Ballast Point Brewery
If you're a fan of craft brews a trip to Ballast point Brewery/restaurant in Miramar is a must do. Here you can tour a working brewery fill a growler with fresh beer and sample more than 40 different Ballast point brews with food tailored to match in a hipster vibe environment with a large outdoor patio to boot. The brewery tour takes about 30 minutes and there are no free samples.
Oscar's Mexican Seafood-secret dessert

If you've followed us for a little while, you know we love Oscar's Mexican Seafood. We haven't found anything there that wasn't really really good. We're obsessed with their avocado salsa. You might not believe it but you've got to try it, one of the best things you can dip into Oscar's avocado salsa is a banana. I've tried the chipotle salsa too but the avocado is definitely the best for bananas.
